There’s Room for All of Us in the Bookish Community

Hart Books began with a love of romance books and a desire to share that love with other readers. As I build my own bookstore, I want to be surrounded by the people who make this community what it is: authors, booksellers, publishers, creators, readers, and the small businesses bringing their bookish dreams to life.

I want to discover what you’re creating, follow your journey, engage with your content and cheer you on.

Because I believe there’s room for all of us.

There are more books than any of us could read in a lifetime, and readers with wonderfully different tastes. Every bookstore has its own personality. Every author brings a different voice. Every bookish business offers something shaped by the person behind it.

That variety gives readers more opportunities to find somewhere they belong and something they love.

Collaboration Is Part of the Dream

My approach to running Hart Books is simple: the more people reading, discovering authors and supporting the book community, the better.

If someone finds their next favourite book through your shop, that’s something to celebrate. If an independent author reaches new readers, I want to cheer them on. If your content helps someone rediscover their love of reading, you’ve added something valuable to our community.

I’m building a business, and I know how much work that takes. I also believe we can pursue our own goals while supporting each other’s.

I hope you’ll see me as a fellow book lover, a peer and someone who wants to see you succeed.

I Want to Know What You’re Making

Are you opening a bookstore? Writing your first romance? Creating bookish candles, artwork or reading accessories? Starting a review page, a podcast or a book club?

I’d love to hear about it.

Behind every launch, product and post is a person putting their time, creativity and courage into something they care about. Sometimes support is as simple as leaving a thoughtful comment, sharing a post or telling a friend, “You need to have a look at this.”

Those things matter especially when you’re starting out.

I’m particularly keen to connect with Australian independent authors and small bookish businesses. There’s so much talent close to home, and I’d love to help more readers discover it.

If you’ve been wondering whether there’s room for your idea, I hope you give it a chance.

Your taste, your voice and your way of connecting with people will shape what you create. You don’t need to appeal to every reader to mean something to the readers who find you.

I’m finding my own way with Hart Books, too. I’d love to be part of a community where we can share what we’re learning, celebrate each other’s milestones and offer encouragement when things feel difficult.

There’s real joy in seeing someone build something they once only dreamed about.
